We conducted a UX analysis of the original website
Before we started redesigning the website and deploying it on a flexible content management system, we devoted a lot of time to preparing the entire solution. The first step was an analysis of the website, which we subjected to the most relevant procedure – UX testing. We conducted the testing with the participation of six respondents, on various devices, and also in comparison with competitor websites.
We created a UX audit with recommendations
Based on the testing and UX research, which helped us understand the motivation and expectations of potential clients, we prepared a final audit. We thus revealed to the client specific weak points where user-friendliness falters or has significant deficiencies and errors. As an example, we can mention the non-display of color variants of the product on the category page, small font in some descriptions, unclear product descriptions, technical terms of parameters without further explanation, missing reviews, or the inability to find brick-and-mortar stores.
We created a detailed technical specification
Only when we had a clear understanding of the end customer's expectations and uncovered all the weaknesses of the original website did we start preparing an extensive technical specification. This became the fundamental building block for the new website www.kondela.sk with the goal of achieving greater speed, stability, and security of the entire solution. The UX team was joined by graphic designers with wireframe proposals, programmers, and developers, and they created a detailed description of the following steps including the basic structure of the website, description of functionalities, content migrations, technical integrations, creation of language versions, and details about the website's operation.
We consulted the proposal and specification
After preparing the technical specification, we fine-tuned the details based on client feedback and explained all proposed changes within an open and fair collaboration that resonated over the entire project. Comments on the technical specification, as well as oversight of the entire project, were also ensured by a third independent party – a business consultant from Opinest.
Development of the new website and support
The development of the website on a new content management system took approximately three-quarters of a year. Despite the extensive solution with thousands of products and in five different language versions, we managed to complete the development two months earlier than originally planned. After delivering the finished website, further, originally unplanned refinements followed as part of ongoing development and continuing technical support.
Results of cooperation
We delivered a new, stable, secure, and faster e-commerce site to the client ahead of the scheduled completion date by integrating various teams within the one-stop shop agency. The fulfillment of expectations was reflected in an immediate increase in sales and the fact that the client recouped the entire investment in the new solution from the e-commerce revenue within one month.
