What does it mean

Google Display (more precisely Google Display Network – GDN) is Google's advertising network that allows advertisers to display visual ads (so-called banner, image, or even animated ads) on millions of websites, in mobile apps, and on YouTube. How does the Google Display Network (GDN) work?

The Google Display Network operates as a vast network of partner websites and apps that allow Google to display ads to their visitors. Websites or apps that choose to display ads through Google become part of this network.

As an advertiser, you can use Google Display to create a campaign where your ads (e.g., banners or graphic images) will be shown to people based on various criteria:

  • their interests and behavior (e.g., interested in fashion, health, travel),
  • demographic data (age, gender, location),
  • certain topics or keywords,
  • specific websites, apps, or YouTube videos (so-called placement – we wrote about this above),
  • remarketing – ads are shown to people who have already visited your site or used your app.
