What does it mean
World Wide Web (WWW) is a distributed hypertext internet information system that allows universal access to a wide range of documents containing links to other local or remote documents. Each document has its specific address – URL, thanks to which it can be found and displayed in programs called web browsers. Web pages can contain hypertext links that connect documents and thus create a network of information.
More info
With the development of the internet, the WWW has become the foundation for electronic commerce (e-commerce), allowing businesses and consumers to buy and sell products and services online. E-commerce utilizes technologies such as mobile commerce, electronic funds transfer, supply chain management, internet marketing, online transaction processing, and electronic data interchange systems. Modern e-commerce typically uses the WWW for at least one part of the transaction lifecycle, although it may also involve other technologies, such as email.
Thanks to the WWW, customers can access online stores through web browsers, browse products, compare prices, and make purchases from the comfort of their homes. Businesses can reach a global audience through e-commerce, reduce costs associated with operating brick-and-mortar stores, and offer customers a wider selection of products.
The development of the WWW and e-commerce has brought significant changes to business models and consumer behavior, transforming traditional markets and ways of doing business.
