PHP code is processed on the server side, which means, that it is executed on the server, hosting the website. The result of the PHP code processing is then sent to the user's web browser.

- Creating web applications, which provide users with comprehensive functions
- Processing data, such as storing data in a database
- Generating content, such as emails or messages
