ui42 and Dedoles: Why does the transition from custom-made to Shopify make sense?
After more than nine years of successful collaboration between ui42 and Dedoles, our paths are diverging. Dedoles, one of the historically fastest-growing Slovak e-commerce brands, has decided to transition to the Shopify platform as part of its new strategic vision.
Collaboration that Brought Global Success
From the beginning of our collaboration, Dedoles has been continuously growing, and our technology, along with the expertise of our team, has enabled them to scale their business to the international market. We participated in the development of their ecommerce platform, process optimization, and for 9 years provided tailor-made solutions that supported their expansion. During years of intense growth, even in times of crisis, such as the period before the looming bankruptcy, we always stood by Dedoles and helped them overcome challenging obstacles.
Over 9 years, Dedoles rightfully became the flagship of ui42. The project involved dozens of specialists in development, marketing, UX, and design. A full-fledged one-stop shop from ui42 often brought solutions on the fly to new challenges and problems associated with integrations into dozens of different systems required by rapid growth and success. The vision of a turnover of 150 million Euros required an enormous change in systems, which we successfully delivered.
Dedoles Aims for a New Goal
After more than a year of intense discussions and consultations, Dedoles' management decided to transition to a SaaS solution. Despite thoroughly explaining the advantages of maintaining their current system to both the previous and new management and not recommending the transition to a SaaS solution, we eventually reached a mutual understanding at the end of 2023. Dedoles decided on this change because they believe that a SaaS solution will provide them with greater market flexibility and increase their chances of a successful sale.
As professional partners, we respect and, with an understanding of the reasons, also support this decision and believe that the chosen path will help them achieve their set goals.
Even though our paths are diverging, we are immensely proud of what we have achieved with Dedoles. Together, we stood by their greatest successes, and thanks to our technology and solutions, we were able to scale their business to unprecedented dimensions. Dedoles, thanks to the stability we provided, managed to captivate not only Slovak customers with hamsters 4 years ago.
We were with them even when they faced difficulties, and we helped them overcome challenging periods as one of the many creditors of restructuring, but also through various proactive solutions and benefits during the ongoing collaboration.
Dedoles will remain a part of our history, and ui42 will always be a part of Dedoles' history. At the end of the first quarter of 2025, we will officially say goodbye in the spirit of fair cooperation and with a clean slate.
